A village with an aerodrome next door
Dunsfold Aerodrome was built by the Canadian Army during the Second World War and later used during the Berlin Airlift, before becoming, from the early 2000s, the home of Top Gear's studio and test track. Large-scale housing redevelopment of the site has since been proposed under Garden Village plans.
A historic holy well
Away from the aerodrome, Dunsfold's older village centre includes a holy well once visited by pilgrims who believed its water could help eye complaints, a much quieter piece of the village's history than its more recent motoring fame.
